salvation
Are you ready to meet the Lord face to face?
The bible tells us that “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” Romans 9:12.
Death is an appointment we all have one day. The question is, are we ready when our time comes? The bible tells us that we are separated from God by our own sin. It is no one else’s but our own. We have to be cleansed from the sin in our lives. But how?
God has made a way!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 KJV)
John 3:16 is one of the most well known verses in the bible. But what does it mean? As we see in the verse, it tells us that because God loves us so much, He made a way for us. God sent His only begotten son, Jesus!
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 KJV)
Romans 5:8 tells us what Jesus did for us. Through the love that God has for us, Jesus gave his life for you. And here is the amazing part, it was while we were still sinners. That means right where you are today, hopeless and without God in your life, Jesus paid the price for you almost 2000 years ago.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18 KJV)
John 3:18 tells us that we have two options. Either believe in Jesus or not. If we choose to believe in Jesus, we have eternal life through Him. If we choose not to believe in Jesus we are condemned.
In John chapter 3 we find Jesus having a conversation with a religious man named Nicodemus. Jesus told Nicodemus that unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus began to ask what does it mean to be born again? To be born again we have to be cleansed from all of our sin and become new again.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8 KJV)
The challenge most people have is acknowledging they are a sinner. We have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God. John 1:8 tells us that if we will not acknowledge our sin then we are deceiving ourselves.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 KJV)
This verse gives us an awesome promise. If we will confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us! We become born again! We become new!
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. (Acts 2:38-39 KJV)
What does it mean to repent?
Repent means to turn about or change direction from what you are doing wrong. So if you are currently living in sin, when you repent you change the direction your life is going. You turn away from the sin in your life and you begin living your life in a new direction, living for Jesus!
So now what?
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10 KJV)
This is a very powerful verse. It tells us that if we will confess Jesus as Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead we will be saved. It takes an action on our part of not only believing it in our heart but speaking it with our mouths.
So, what direction is your life currently going? Are you living for Jesus or are you living for yourself? Many people today are living a self satisfying life and are not living in a relationship with God’s only Son Jesus. You can make a change in your life today and it begins with a simple prayer.
Dear Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that my life is void and empty without you. I am a sinner in need of a savior. Lord I come just as I am with all of my faults and failures and I ask you Lord to save me. So Lord Jesus I ask you to wash me in your precious blood that you shed on the cross for me. Lord I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and that you rose again on the third day and you are now seated on the right hand of God interceding for me. Lord I confess my sins before you now and I ask you to fill my life with your presence. Thank you Jesus for saving me and that I am now a child of the King! Lord give me strength each day as I start this new journey in my life for you and surround me with your presence each day. I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen!
If you prayed that prayer with sincerity from your heart then you are saved!
Now the journey begins your walk with Jesus each day!
